What makes it unique
The Everest Base Camp trek is a legendary adventure, ideal for anyone who dreams of getting close to the highest mountain on earth. Over twelve to fourteen days, this well-paced route immerses walkers in the world of the Sherpa, between hillside villages, Buddhist monasteries and breathtaking panoramas.
The adventure begins with a spectacular 35- to 40-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m), with unbroken views of the Himalayan peaks. From there the trail winds gradually up the Khumbu valley, through pine and rhododendron forest, before reaching Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), the commercial heart of the region and a key stop for acclimatisation.
What makes it unique
The most famous trek in the world — and it earns its reputation for what standing at 5,364 metres beneath the roof of the world does to a person. Namche village, Tengboche monastery, the faces of the Sherpa, the sea of cloud below Kala Patthar at sunrise: it is a physical and an inward experience at once.
