Yam Gurung

Namaste! I'm Yam Gurung! I come from the northern part of Gorkha district. I grew up in the Himalayan region since I was a child. My parents worked mainly in agriculture and animal husbandry. I like to go to the high mountains, to peaceful places. I like to meet and chat with people from different countries. I would like to share our local culture, customs and traditions. We can't always access higher education due to financial difficulties, so we have to work as porters and then as guides. I want to become a trekking guide, because I deeply love this job. This is my relationship with the mountains: they bring me peace and good vibrations. The mountains teach me everything, and that's how I want to live, thanks to trekking.
